I have a lot of trouble finding sneakers that are comfortable for my wide feet. It'll take months for a pair of converse to break in, and even then, they can be uncomfortable after a few hours of wear.
A friend mentioned Tretorn to me and I'm so glad she did! I got a pair and love them. The material is very flexible so I can loosen the shoelaces and "widen" my shoes but they still look great! It even works for those with narrow feet by just lacing up the shoelaces tighter.
